LEARNER PERMIT TO P LICENCE

You must be at least 16 years old to sit for the car learner permit test which includes 32 questions based on the “Road To Solo Driving” handbook. The pass mark of this test is 78%.

For Learner Permits issued after 1 July 2007, the following conditions will be applied before you can sit your practical drive test:

• If you are under the age of 21, you will be required to perform a minimum of 120 hours (Including at least 10 hours of night driving) of supervised driving before taking your license test.
• You must record these hours in the official learner logbook, which must be signed by your supervising driving instructor.
• You must hold your learner permit for at least twelve months
• Drivers between 21 to 24 years of age, you must hold your learner permit for at least six months
• Drivers of 25 years of age or over, you must hold your learner permit for at least three months
